THE EXPECTATION OF HEAVEN

Luke 13:6-9

6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.

7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?

8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:

9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

Illustration story:

There is a story of  a brother that has being experiencing uncommon great favour and grace of God all his life. He was born in a village, that night his mother was laboring; she had to travel miles in the middle of the night to a hospital because the village hospital was not in operation; that she got there, it was a miracle. When the woman delivered this brother, he had serious complications, the doctors had given up on him; his chances were 10%

survival chance, but miraculously this brother survived. This particular event made the mother to realize that there is something about him. The brother entered school and became extremely brilliant, he was the best throughout his school days. There was one unfortunate thing about his life, he regarded all this things happening his life as just fate, he never regarded God seriously; He only concentrated on his career and family.

When he was returning from the youth service, the bus he entered that was filled with his fellow corps members had an accident, all the corps members die, he was the only one that survived the crash; He saw it a fate or chance. During his service year, he was singularly retained and selected for sponsorship training overseas. When he started his business, he

got contracts he did not pursue, even though several were pursuing the contract. There was one the contract pursuer that became angry and paid an assassin to kill him. He was driving when the assassin shot directly at him through the windscreen.  Surprising to him and the police, the bullet pierced the windscreen and entered the chair he was sitting on but nothing happen to this brother. Disappointingly, this brother saw this entire occurrence as mere fate. God was sending men of God to him, that He needs to work for God, this brother despised them.

Until God was total disappointed and determined to cut the brother off. His family was wrecked, his business crumbled, the bank was pursuing him because of huge loans, he had no house or car again, this led him to develop a life threatening hearth disease. At this point this brother did not still turn to God, instead, he was tired of

life and he went into the bush to commit suicide. God is a merciful God, He sent an angel to stop him and show him his sins, but at that point the brother was down to nothing. This is because he thought God was showering him will all this blessing, all for nothing.

The blessings and goodness you are receiving from God is not for nothing.

God has expectations on your life

God is like a Businessman that will want returns back on his investments.

God makes investments into our life and he expect profit.

God has planted us and He expects us yield fruits.

God is not happy when we are not producing fruits.

It is like a waste of effort and investment to him

Pray like this:

The Investment of God upon my life shall not be a waste in the name of Jesus.

The scripture above reads; if the tree bears no fruit, let it be cut down. May be you are on the verge of been cut off. Think Now !!!

Probably heaven is saying let us give him one more chance !

Peradventure, if there will be a change.

Peradventure, you will yield the purpose while God created you.

Peradventure, you will start fulfilling your purpose in life

THE TIME FOR REPENTANCE IS NOW !!!

Don't compare yourself with another person

You more not have the grace given to that person.

Illustration story:

I knew someone back then, he used to say, he will serve God, after He is 50

years that he wants to enjoy life now. At 50 years he would have made money, children, wealth then he will serve the lord with everything. You know what ? We can never be wiser that the devil that is 100 time older than us. How does he know he will have that much grace or will get to the age of 50 years. The brother is still struggling and he is almost 50 years; His life has not gotten any shape yet, No children, no wife, no car, no house, no wealth and also unfortunately, no God.

Declare this to yourself:

The devil will not rub me of my benefits in the name of Jesus.

God might give a person 100 more chances and You just 10 Chances

Saul never had half the grace David had.

David committed fornication, he murdered and did other wrong things, but

God had mercy on him. God even took some of the punishment away to his other linage. That is Mercy and Grace.

Saul only committed disobedience to God’s instruction and immediately God rejected him and declared his throne vacant. Saul was still on the throne when God ask the prophet to go anoint a new king; David.

Saul did not do up to what David did before heaven rejected him.

Don’t be nonchalant to this call. This will be recorded in heaven as one of the call made to you to change.

The Bible says: Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling {Philippians 2:12}

It is YOUR OWN SALVATION, not you friend, parents, siblings or colleagues salvation.

It not a matter of if you go to church, it is a matter of:

 v Does God recognize you in his kingdom?

 v Are you just , among the numbers?

 v You have spent so long in church, have you been growing spiritually as you are growing physically?

 v Are you still on your long time not to good character like: Anger, Malice, Drinking, Smoking, Fornication, Adultery, Lying, Fraudulence and the likes.

You are not condemned for all this; but you need to work towards perfection.{Hebrews 6:1}.

It might not be easy but the lord will surely help us. Just Decide and Start Today.

God says in his word:” My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” {2 Corinthians 12:9}

I pray for you today:

God ‘s wonderful, and merciful grace will be sufficient for you.

What are the things that’s makes us disappoint Heaven?

   1.   SIN : what is sin?

- Sin is like a razor blade that tears our garment of righteousness

- Sin will rob you of God's blessings for your life.

- Sin is what makes the devil have a hold in your life

- Sin is the ladder in which the enemy climbs into our life to attack us.

- Sin is like poison coated with sugar, hence sin but killing.

- Sin makes us powerless when confronted with little things.

If you are living in Sin then =>

- You definitely living below God's standard.

- You are missing a lot of blessings God has in stock for you.

- You totally open to the attack of the enemy

- God will not be able to use you as HE would like to use you.

2. SELFISHNESS :A lot of people are just enjoying the grace of God without considering how to appreciate that grace.

Have you thought of this ?

 Ø If everyone in church was like me, will the church be growing as it is ?

 Ø If everyone in world was like me, will the world be a better place?

 Ø Can heaven boast of you, like it did for Job; saying my faithful servant ?

 Ø Are you representing God well in your , office, business, market, home and environment?

 Ø Are you a Secret Agent Christian, where you don’t want people to identify you as to fervent for God?

 Ø Are you passionately fulfilling a portion out of the huge task of God. (Sermon Jotter can be an platform you can use for this)

Many questions the Holy Spirit will put to you, answer it sincerely and Start a step to change. NOW and not tomorrow.

I pray;

Heaven will not cut you off

You will not run out of the grace and mercy of God in Jesus Name
